Dave and I had our first Christmas together as newly weds. It was so great! Early Sunday morning we got a call from New York at about 5:30 to Skype with Dave's family and open all our sibling gifts together. It felt like we were in the living room with the whole family:) So good to see everyone in action! Especially Mom when she shed tears over the new iPad that we all got her. Of course she didn't start crying until she noticed the "sweet" engraving on the back that said, "we love you mom!" As for our little Christmas together. . .Dave went all out! He was shopping all throughout December and hiding gifts and forbidding me to go to certain rooms. Christmas morning, Santa had in deed come and he had spoiled me with gifts. It is hard to be away from family and I know that Dave is anxious to have a Christmas in New York since it has been about 4 years now but we'll get there, and thank goodness for technology. It is fun to be starting our own family traditions and the most important thing is that we got to be together. Merry Christmas!
This year's treats for neighbors. My special sugar cookies and lindzer tarts. It was fun to be off school and have enough time to spend making them.
Opening a knot with one hand! We took our couch covers off because they are such so festive:)
Ever since Dave got back from his mission he has been wanting to chop wood. Now that we have a fireplace it is necessary that his dream comes true. Now he has an outlet when I make him mad;)

I LOVE technology! Sorry we woke you up so early but it was great to spend a little bit of Christmas morning with you both. Your tree looks enchanting, the lindzar tarts look yummy (recipe please??), I love your one handed present opening technique, and Dave looks like such a lean lumber jack with that weapon of wood chopping. Love your blog! Love you!
